Platinized Titanium Anode Mesh for Electrolytic Gold Plating Process

Platinized Titanium Anode Mesh for Electrolytic Gold Plating Process

Platinum plated anodes have been used in the industry since 1922 when they were mainly used in the electrochemical industry. Platinum plated anodes were used on tantalum and tungsten substrates, and later titanium based anodes were used. There are generally two production methods for platinized titanium anodes: the thermal decomposition method and the electroplating method.

Electroplating is the method used for most platinized titanium anodes. There are two ways to electroplating: one is a liquid electroplating solution, which is relatively conventional; one is to use molten salt as an electroplating solution. Platinum plating systems generally use sulfamic acid type platinum plating solutions. The commonly used plating process parameters are 15 g/L of P salt, 100 g/L of NH2OSO2H, 4 g/L of organic amine additives L, current density 50-150 A/m2, and temperature 60-80 ℃. The obtained platinum coating is fine and bright, with good adhesion between the coating and the substrate, and excellent corrosion resistance. The thickness of the platinum coating is generally 2-5 microns. Platinized titanium anode has mesh, plate, rod, wire, and tube shapes.
